Why We Step Up: Jen Caesar, Board Secretary
Our #WhyWeStepUp series continues this week with Jen Caesar, Board Secretary at Step Up Parents.
With more than a decade of experience in digital marketing for technology companies, Jen brings a strategic, growth-focused mindset to the Step Up Parents board—but what drives her most is compassion.
“Step Up Parents’ mission is important to me because kinship caregivers are quietly doing the hardest job: unexpectedly raising a child, often without support,” Jen shares. “These caregivers step up out of love and responsibility, and they deserve all the help we can give.”
Kinship caregivers—often grandparents, aunts, uncles, or close family friends—take on parenting roles in times of crisis, frequently without warning or resources. Jen was drawn to the organization because of its commitment to meeting these families with dignity, care, and efficiency.
“Step Up Parents offers that support with dignity, compassion, and no administrative headaches,” she says. “We provide financial assistance and emotional encouragement to kinship families because helping one caregiver can help an entire family thrive.”
Jen lives in Dover, New Hampshire with her husband, Chris, and their goldendoodle, Auggie. Though this is her first board position, she has a long history of volunteering on the Seacoast and is eager to help grow and promote Step Up Parents through her expertise in digital outreach.
Her perspective reminds us that behind every caregiver we support is a ripple effect—one act of help that can stabilize a household, nurture a child’s future, and offer hope during an uncertain time.
We're honored to have Jen on our board and grateful for the energy she brings to our mission.
Stay tuned as we continue our #WhyWeStepUp series, highlighting the passionate individuals who make our work possible.
