Step Up Parents to Host First Annual Benefit Event to Support Kinship Families
Step Up Parents (SUP) will host the inaugural Step Out and Step Up: An Evening to Benefit Kinship Care from 6-10 PM on Sept. 20, 2025 at the Envio Hotel in Portsmouth. Presented by Colonial Appliance Services, the event will raise critical funds for kinship families (grandparents, relatives, or friends) who “step up” to care for children when their parents struggle with substance use disorder.
“We are excited to launch this event and bring our community together in support of kinship families,” said SUP Board President Denyse Richter. “These families make extraordinary sacrifices, but with the support of our donors and partners, we can continue to ease their burdens and celebrate their strength.”
In addition to a plated dinner, the event will feature a program highlighting the impact of kinship care and a silent auction with exclusive items and experiences. “We will also have a fabulous DJ to ensure dancing and fun for everyone,” added Richter.
Proceeds from the event will directly support Step Up Parents’ mission to provide financial assistance and support to kinship caregivers in New Hampshire and Maine. To sponsor the event, purchase tickets, or learn more about Step Up Parents, visit stepupparents.org/step-out.
