Kinship Care Story: Summer Camp Support for a Grandfamily

Debbie has been the legal guardian of her two granddaughters since they were each 2 years old due to their parents’ substance use disorder. Since then, she has been their primary caregiver.

This summer, Step Up Parents provided assistance to help cover the cost of camp. A $500 payment was made directly to their summer program, helping ensure the girls are able to attend.

Debbie shared her appreciation for the support: “I can’t say thank you enough. I am very grateful for the assistance—it is greatly appreciated.”
